Street markets in Wimbledon - Survey
WCF
28 October 2011 - 8:15am
We are in the process of planning our markets for 2011 on The Piazza. For the past 8 years, we have held five 3-day markets each year, spread throughout the year, with the addition of occasional single traders. Our markets have included French, Italian and Continental with a focus on Food.
As we plan for 2011, we need to know whether you – the residents, visitors and workers in Wimbledon – want them at all, want them more, want them less or want something different.
So please continue and answer a few short questions, plus you will have the opportunity at the end to give us your personal opinions. We will then go by the majority votes in the planning of the markets for next year.
Thank you very much for your time and please pass the link for this survey to your co-workers via email or your intranet, and to any other friends or family members who visit, live or work in Wimbledon.

SOUTH LONDON WASTE PLAN DEVELOPMENT PLAN DOCUMENT – FURTHER CONSULTATION
WCF
6 August 2011 - 8:13am
The South London Waste Plan DPD sets out the issues and objectives to be met in waste management for the next ten years. It is a joint DPD and covers the geographical area comprising the London Borough of Croydon, the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames, the London Borough of Merton and the London Borough of Sutton. It contains policies to guide the determination of planning applications for waste management facilities and identifies existing waste sites to be safeguarded and areas where waste management development may be suitable.
The South London Waste Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State on 28 April 2011 and the Examination-in-Public is currently taking place. The public hearings were held between 12 and 19 July. However, the boroughs are staging a further round of consultation between 3 August and 20 September.
Further Consultation on the South London Waste Plan
Why is the consultation taking place?
The reason for this consultation is twofold:
1. At the public hearings into the South London Waste Plan in July, the boroughs proposed a number of changes to the document and, while it is not a statutory duty to consult on these changes, the boroughs consider, in the interests of fairness, residents and interested parties should have the opportunity to comment on the proposed changes.
2. On July 25, the Government published the draft National Planning Policy Framework (draft NPPF) which will replace the majority of existing national planning guidance. The Inspector, who is examining the South London Waste Plan, is inviting comments on any implications of this policy development for the South London Waste Plan.
What exactly can I comment on?
1. Since the South London Waste Plan has already been through three stages of consultation and been submitted for examination, comments must be limited to the boroughs’ proposed changes only (highlighted in red in the “Examination Changes Document” or those changes listed in the ”Schedule of Changes Relating to Soundness”). The Sustainability Appraisal on the Examination Changes may also be commented on.
2. To consider the implications of the draft NPPF on the South London Waste Plan, comments can refer to the entirety of both documents.
Where can I read the documents?
The documents are available
1. On the boroughs’ websites:
www.croydon.gov.uk/wasteplan (click on “Read full details of further consultation and download consultation documents here”)
www.kingston.gov.uk/wasteplan (click on “South London Waste Plan Stage 4: Submission”)
www.merton.gov.uk/wasteplan
www.sutton.gov.uk/wasteplan
2. In the principal council offices and libraries across the four boroughs.
Where do I send my comments?
Please fill in a response form, available on the websites on in the offices and libraries, and sent it to:
Mrs Pauline Butcher, South London Waste Plan Programme Officer,
c/o Guildhall II, Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames,
High Street, Kingston-upon-Thames, KT1 1EU
Alternatively, you can send your comments by email, making it clear by reference to the number(s) which changes you are referring to in the “Track Changes Document” or the “Schedule of Changes Relating to Soundness” or which paragraphs of the draft NPPF and/or South London Waste Plan you are referring to. Please send your comments to both the email addresses below:
ldfprogrammeofficer@tiscali.co.uk AND southlondonwasteplan@rbk.kingston.gov.uk
For further information or questions relating to the consultation, please telephone Duncan Clarke, the South London Waste Plan Project Manager, on 020 8547 5375.
When does the consultation close?
The consultation closes on Tuesday, 20 September at noon.
Yours faithfully,
Duncan Clarke
