Our Cycling Suffragette

A symbol of women’s emancipation since the 1890s, the bicycle proved useful to the suffrage campaign.

This talk by Hugh Morgan ( Merton Cycling Campaign) will feature the country’s most significant and influential cycling suffragette – Merton and Wimbledon campaigner, Rose Lamartine Yates.

The talk will run for just over one hour, followed by the opportunity for Q & A. Refreshments will also be served and there will be the chance to find out about other events in Merton’s suffrage centenary calendar, in addition to information about Cycling UK’s Festival of Women’s Cycling.

21 July, 2 – 4pm
