The Crime Forum works as a “bridge” between police, local authority and community organisations to ensure the proper functioning of the recent Crime and Disorder bill. Among recent subjects targeted have been: proliferation of alcohol outlets in Wimbledon as well as drugs and the impact of drugs on youth crime. The Forum concentrates on helping resolve difficult issue of racial harassment in the post-Lawrence / Macpherson report climate, an issue emphasised by the Lottery Charities Board grant. The Forum is chaired by Richard Martin and Saleem Sheikh.
