This workshop, ‘Thinking of Starting a Business: Business Basics’, will provide you with expert and practical advice on starting a business.

    Part of the “Thinking of Starting A Business” Series of workshops.Workshops are run by qualified business advisers.The Merton Business Support Service is financially supported by the London Borough of Merton and is an advisory service providing high quality, practical advice and support to help small businesses and startups develop and expand. The service is delivered by the Merton Chamber of Commerce and a network of some of London’s leading private sector business advisory and support firms. The business helpdesk is the first point of contact and your gateway to business services.

    Unsung Heroes : Black and Asian troops during the First World War- part of Black History Month 2017

    Between 1914 and 1918, Black and Asian Servicemen fought for King and Country in their thousands, yet their courage and dedication has often been hidden from history.

    This illustrated talk will reveal more about this courageous generation of men, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice and lie buried far from home and family.

    Fire Warden Marshal Training

    This Fire Warden Marshal Training workshop is aimed at those employees within the organisation who have a key role to play within the management of Fire Safety in the Workplace.
    The course is tailored as a generic course and will include the following:

    The Legal Requirement
    The Triangle of Fire
    Types and Causes of Fire
    Extinguishing Fire
    Basic Fire Prevention
    Actions to be taken in the Event of Fire
    Fire Extinguishers
    Checking Fire Fighting Equipment within your Workplace
    Escape Routes and their Importance
    Fire Notices and Signs
    Assembly Points and Role Calls
    Proactive Fire Prevention
    Proactive and Reactive Role of a Fire Warden/Marshal

    You will be able to undertake a practical demonstration; allowing you to extinguish different types of Fire, using Fire Extinguishers on our Environmentally Friendly Fire Simulators.
    Who will benefit from this course?

    Any Individual who has a responsibility for Fire Safety; anyone who requires guidance on work place fire safety and anyone who requires their staff to have an in-depth Fire Safety Awareness.
