    Abundance Fruit Day

Abundance Wimbledon is a fruit picking and sharing project. We collect fruit from gardens around Wimbledon and beyond – and make sure the fruit gets used for something. Some of it is delivered to local good causes, such as The Wimbledon Guild and the Faith in Action homeless drop-in centre.

Fruit Day is our big fund raising event. Please do come along. There will be lots of stalls selling jams, jellies and chutneys, cakes and desserts made from local surplus fruit, a fruit press making lovely fresh apple juice, pie-making, advice on looking after your fruit tree, activities for all the family including a ‘Longest Peel’ competition, and music from the fantastic International Ukulele Orchestra. Everyone is welcome and entrance is FREE.

    The Rebellious Women of Wimbledon

The Attic Theatre presents an intimate and immersive show for 3 actresses, performing this October for one week only at Wimbledon Library before touring South West London.

A witty, inventive and moving new play about the Suffragettes by Beth Flintoff

    Book tickets: https://thelittleboxoffice.com/attic

‘Welcome everyone. Do take a seat, and enjoy the refreshments.
We’re here tonight to talk about the cause of women.
Quite simply, we’re here to change the world.’

Centring on the remarkable story of Wimbledon resident Rose Lamartine Yates, this new play, by acclaimed playwright Beth Flintoff, is an impassioned, unsentimental and sharp-witted tribute to the Suffragette cause in this centenary year.

“My infant son is eight months old…when the boy grows up he might ask me, ‘What did you do, mother, in the days of the women’s agitation, to lay their grievances before the Prime Minister?’”

A cast of three women, a handful of props and original music, bring this incredible story vividly to life for the first time, in an imaginative, theatrical and entertaining production.
